Rabbit

In Georgia, the opposition urges Saakashvili to resign and is threatening civil disobedience. The protesters vowed to stay on the streets until the President quits.

Protesters gathered near his residence, pelting it with carrots and cabbage, and calling him "a rabbit."

One of the opposition leaders explained the weird action of the vegetable assault:
"The president of Georgia is a rabbit! He is afraid of his own people, and we will bring him carrots and cabbages every day."

Saakashvili - a Tie-Eating President

I admire the sense of humor of the Gerogian opposition!

If you remember, in August 2008, Saakashvili was caught on camera  nervously chewing his necktie while discussing the Georgian-Russian conflict over South Ossetia by telephone with a top Western official. Psychologists say it was a sign of cowardice.

Today, in addition to "carrots and cabbages", the Georgian opposition also began a "tie protest" near the presidential residence, decorating its fence with neckties of different colors. A leader of the opposition says, "Everyone who hangs a tie here will be able to make a wish, and I am sure every one of us will have the same wish – for the president to step down."

Yes, I agree, the opposition in Georgia chose humour as their main strategy. Today, they brought a live rabbit wearing a red tie to the President's residence.
